Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy (from ancient Greek ψυχή — "soul", "spirit" + θεραπεία — "treatment") — a system of therapeutic influence on the psyche and through the psyche on the human body.

Psychotherapy is a conversation with those who have gotten into trouble, providing an opportunity to voice their problems, understand the nature of their difficulty, and find a way out. The main goal of psychotherapy is to develop flexibility, the ability to find new effective behavioral strategies, to accumulate and rationally use energy resources, and to ensure enthusiasm and optimism.

Criteria of psychotherapy effectiveness

elimination or compensation of painful symptoms, change in attitude toward oneself, understanding one's own role in the origin of conflict, understanding the psychological mechanisms of one's illness, increased ability to perceive new experience, increased degree of social adaptation.
